Story Hour with our Youth Services Librarian, Donna Lenhardt |
|
|
Since 1939, the Friends of the Lafayette
Library has been funding:
-
The ongoing purchase of library materials, such as books, magazine subscriptions, audio and video tapes, CDs, and books on tape.
- Special programs for children, such as puppet shows, storytellers, summer reading programs, the annual bookmark contest and more.
- The purchase of new furniture, bookshelves, and other equipment.
- Internet training, and access through books, magazines, web sites, and databases.
The Friends accomplished the above and
much more through its membership and
through the efforts of a dedicated few
who operate a twice monthly used book
sale at the Community Center. This is an excellent opportunity to recycle your old
books, find some new bargains, and support your library at the same time.
As funding for libraries continues to decline
at the county level, it is incumbent upon
each community and each citizen therein
to play a role in keeping our library current,
vital, and open. So, BE A FRIEND and join
the Friends of the Lafayette Library today.
