DESPERATE PASSAGE: The Donner Party's Perilous Journey West

A Sweet Thursday Author Event for Students, Teachers and California History Buffs!

Join the Friends of the Lafayette Library on Thursday April 24 at 7:30 pm at the Lafayette Library to hear from Ethan Rarick, author of the new and highly-acclaimed telling of the Donner Party: DESPERATE PASSAGE: The Donner Party's Perilous Journey West. Drawing on fresh archaeological evidence, DESPERATE PASSAGE casts new light on one of America's most horrific encounters between the dream of a better life and the harsh realities of nature and time. Ethan Rarick is Professor of Political Science at UC Berkeley and a Director at the UC Institute of Governmental Studies, a partner in the Glenn Seaborg Learning Consortium of the new Lafayette Library and Learning Center.

As always, admission is free and light refreshments will be served. The author will be available to sign books at the end of the program.

Sponsored by Lafayette Book Store and Friends of the Lafayette Library.
